Gujarat Welcomes PM Modi With Road Show, Projects
Banaskantha, Gujarat: The arrival of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Banaskantha district triggered strong enthusiasm on Friday morning. Residents lining the roads cheered as he took part in a road show.
During the visit, the Prime Minister inspected the animal farm of the Bharat Bovine Breeding and Research Centre. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi joined him.
The programme is part of a two-day Gujarat visit on October 30 and 31. In Banaskantha, Modi will inaugurate and lay foundation stones for development works costing more than Rs 14,000 crore. He will also release the 24th instalment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, totalling nearly Rs 19,000 crore.
Bovine Research Centre Dedicated to Nation
Among the day's key events is the dedication of the Bharat Bovine Breeding and Research Centre in Bhildi. Covering 127 acres, the centre has been built as a Centre of Excellence for animal reproduction, breed enhancement and advanced breeding methods.
It is the first centre of its kind in India focused on the Kankrej cattle breed. The Prime Minister's Office expects breed improvement to accelerate by 10 to 20 times.
Modi had earlier posted on X that the facility would boost milk yield per animal, improve breed quality, increase farmers' incomes and help conserve indigenous cattle breeds.
Bio CNG and Urban Connectivity Projects
The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for two bio CNG plants of Banas Dairy in Tharad and Radhanpur. Their dung processing capacities will be 75 metric tonnes and 100 metric tonnes per day.
The list of projects also features the Ahmedabad Metro's extension to the airport and towards GIFT City. Widening the Ahmedabad-Mehsana road from four to eight lanes, at a cost of about Rs 2,600 crore, is also planned. Additionally, 4,030 child-friendly Anganwadi centres will be developed.
Rural Infrastructure and Train Launches
Under the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund, Modi will dedicate 521 completed projects costing around Rs 4,950 crore. He will also flag off the Ahmedabad (Sabarmati)-Varanasi Express and the Mehsana-Becharaji-Sabarmati MEMU trains.
Later in the day, he will visit Ekta Nagar in Narmada district to inaugurate 'Bharat Parv 2026' and witness the 'Ekta Prakash Parv', part of the National Unity Day celebrations.
