Government Nursery Stock Readied for Public Participation Across Gujarat

Gujarat’s forest authorities have completed the preparation of saplings in all district nurseries ahead of the Forest Festival. The stock includes a wide range of native and commercial species, all nurtured under controlled conditions to ensure high survival rates after planting.

The distribution model is designed to be inclusive: citizens can obtain saplings at nominal prices, while larger entities such as municipal corporations can place bulk orders for road‑side greening or revenue‑area plantations. The Forest Department has also streamlined logistics to deliver plants to remote areas efficiently.

Environmental minister Arjun Modhwadia emphasized that the availability of these ready‑to‑plant seedlings will support the state’s broader goal of expanding forest cover, enhancing carbon sequestration, and strengthening natural ecosystems.
