Mist‑Tech Motorcycles and Water Tankers Ready on Gujarat Roads Ahead of Diwali

As Diwali approaches, Gujarat’s fire safety apparatus is being bolstered with cutting‑edge mist‑technology motorcycles and a fleet of water‑laden tankers. These rapid‑response vehicles are positioned across key routes to curb the spread of fire caused by fireworks.

In Ahmedabad, mist‑equipped bikes have been deployed in crowded localities such as Kalu Pur, Relief Road, Lal Darwaza and Bapu Nagar. The fine water mist neutralises flames quickly while minimizing water usage, enabling crews to act swiftly in tight urban spaces.

Water tankers, each staffed by trained operators, will patrol the S‑G Highway, Sindhubhavan Road and SP Ring Road throughout the night. Their presence ensures a constant water reserve for any large‑scale incident that may arise during the celebrations.

Gandhinagar’s four fire stations—Sector 17, Sargasan, Bhat and Randheja—will each keep fire tenders and water tankers on standby, providing 24‑hour coverage. In Vadodara, mobile teams equipped with fire trucks and tankers are dispersed across the city’s districts, while Rajkot’s ten fire stations maintain a full complement of fire‑fighting and emergency vehicles.

Officials have reiterated safety advisories: fireworks must be set off only in open, ventilated spaces; combustible materials should be kept away; and a responsible adult must supervise any child handling pyrotechnics. The department assures residents that all personnel and equipment remain on high alert for the duration of the festival.
