Gujarat’s ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ Drive Spotlights Anand Parade with Thousands

In a coordinated effort across Gujarat, the district administration of Anand and the Karamsad‑Anand Municipal Corporation staged a Tiranga Yatra that attracted over ten thousand attendees on Friday. The event formed a key segment of the state’s “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign, which aims to hoist the national flag in every household before the nation’s 80th Independence Day.

Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghvi inaugurated the march at Shastri Maidan, Vallabh Vidyanagar, and proceeded alongside a wide range of participants: elected officials, senior bureaucrats, teachers, students, police, NCC cadets, athletes, Home Guard volunteers and TRB staff.

The procession wound its way past Vidyanagar’s Shaheed Chowk and the Bhai Kaka statue, moving along Vidyanagar Road and ending at Anand Town Hall. Spectators carried the tricolor high, accompanied by the resonant slogans “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Vande Mataram.”

Highlights included a cultural opening with choreographed patriotic dances, followed by a steady flow of school and college groups, NCC battalions—including the Gujarat and Girls units—young sports enthusiasts, and other civic volunteers.

Police presence was evident through motorbike riders, horse‑mounted units, a marching band, and women constables. Home Guard, TRB and Gram Rakshak teams also joined the ranks. Flags were hoisted on both sides of Vidyanagar Road, and decorative lighting along the route bathed the march in the colours of the Indian flag.
