Gujarat’s ₹464 crore Elevated Link Set for Inauguration on Monday
On Monday, Home Minister Amit Shah will cut the ribbon on a new six‑lane elevated corridor that connects Iskon Junction with Sanand Chowkri in Ahmedabad. The event, slated for 11 a.m., will be witnessed by Gujarat’s Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel.
The corridor, a 464 crore‑rupee investment executed by the National Highways Authority of India, is geared toward easing the heavy traffic load on the SG Highway. Authorities forecast that approximately 200,000 vehicles will enjoy smoother travel as a result of the new route.
Featuring three ramps on each flank, the elevated link allows for efficient ingress and egress, minimizing disruptions on the main highway. After more than two years of construction, the infrastructure is now ready for public use.
Shah’s ongoing Diwali tour encompasses a suite of development projects totaling over 1,500 crore rupees within the Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar parliamentary seats. The itinerary includes the inauguration of initiatives amounting to more than 700 crore rupees and the groundbreaking of schemes valued at 364 crore rupees.
The launch of this corridor is expected to shorten travel times between Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar, particularly benefiting commuters traveling toward Saurashtra via the Ujala Circle stretch. The project represents a major step toward de‑congesting one of Gujarat’s busiest highway segments.
