Joint GST and Railway Operation Confiscates 50 Tonnes of Materials Valued at ₹5 Crore

In a coordinated crackdown, Delhi's GST enforcement unit and railway officials seized about 50 tonnes of assorted goods at Nizamuddin station. The cargo, arriving from Andhra Pradesh, comprised roughly 25 tonnes of copper scrap and an additional 25 tonnes of mixed scrap, fabrics and other items, collectively worth an estimated five crore rupees. The seizure was triggered by intelligence indicating the freight was moving without the compulsory invoices and e‑way bills. Ongoing investigations aim to validate the provenance of the merchandise and assess any breach of GST statutes.
