Following the tragic crash of Air India flight AI-171 near Ahmedabad airport, the father of a deceased cabin crew member, Nganthoy Sharma Kongbralatpam, has expressed profound grief and disappointment over the lack of communication and support from the airline and the government. The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, en route to Gatwick, London, crashed shortly after takeoff. The victim’s father revealed that he learned of the accident and subsequent rescue efforts primarily through social media. He stated that neither Air India nor the state government contacted his family to provide information or assistance. He also lamented the loss of his daughter and pleaded for government aid for affected families. Air India has stated that 241 of the 242 people on board, including passengers of Indian, British, Portuguese, and Canadian nationalities, perished in the crash. The Tata Group has announced financial aid to the families of the deceased and injured. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
