Greater Noida was gripped by sorrow as a couple from Prayagraj took their own lives by ingesting a toxic substance during a heated family quarrel in the early hours between January 28 and 29. Shravana, son of Amarnath Pal, and his spouse Neelam, who had settled in Sadullapur village under Ecotech III, left behind three innocent children battling for life.
Eyewitnesses recounted the panic that ensued when the family was found unconscious. Neighbors and kin wasted no time, ferrying them to the hospital where the parents were pronounced deceased. The children, aged 10-year-old Vaishnavi, 8-year-old Vaibhav, and 4-year-old Lado, received intensive care and are now stable, according to hospital sources.
Ecotech III police have launched a detailed probe, with the couple’s remains sent for autopsy to confirm poisoning as the cause. Officers are meticulously reconstructing the events, interviewing those close to the family to uncover the root of the dispute. ‘We await the post-mortem report for clarity,’ a senior officer stated.
This tragedy highlights the urgent need for counseling services in domestic strife scenarios. The surviving children are under medical observation, as the community rallies to support them in this hour of immense loss.
