Governor Parnaik Calls for Citizen Participation in Flag Campaign

Governor K. Parnaik addressed a gathering of school students, college representatives, youth organisations, and community groups, urging them to organise activities that promote national awareness and civic responsibility. She highlighted the "Har Ghar Tiranga" campaign as a mass movement designed to rekindle the spirit of patriotism and emotional cohesion across the state. Parnaik reminded participants that as India moves toward the goal of a "Developed India," citizens must demonstrate love for the nation through concrete deeds—respecting the Constitution, safeguarding public property, caring for the environment, and serving the nation. She also reflected on the historic relevance of August 9, noting that on this day in 1942 Mahatma Gandhi launched the Quit India movement, inspiring millions to unite against colonial rule. The governor concluded by emphasizing that the national flag stands as a powerful emblem of freedom, strength, and collective purpose.
