Government Vows Strict Probe After Vishal Yadav’s Fatal Attack

In Jaunpur district, the death of Vishal Yadav on September 11 sparked a protest when his body was placed on the Jaunpur‑Mirzapur highway.

The 33‑year‑old, who had been earning a livelihood by driving a trailer from Gujarat, was attacked by a mob wielding sticks and a metal rod after leaving a local salon.

Cabinet minister Anil Rajbhar responded, stating that the state will conduct a thorough and unbiased investigation, and that the authorities will pursue all 28 identified suspects and 50 unidentified individuals named in the FIR.

He reiterated that the government’s policy is clear: anyone who protects criminals will face strict action, and such measures must serve as a warning to deter future abuse of power.

The minister also said the investigation will keep pressing forward until the victim’s family, led by his mother Malti Devi, is completely satisfied with the outcome.
