Government Pushes Transparency and Efficiency in CBSE Operations, Says Joshi

Union Education Minister Prahlad Joshi met with senior representatives of the School Education and Literacy Division to scrutinise the functioning of the Central Board of Secondary Education.

The meeting aimed at evaluating the board’s academic structure, examination logistics, and administrative processes. Participants agreed on the necessity to embed greater efficiency, transparency and answerability within CBSE’s framework.

Discussion points included measures to provide enhanced support to students and teachers, to make academic procedures more effective, and to secure a smooth, trustworthy examination system. Emphasis was placed on robust exam management, clear operational guidelines, and prioritising the interests of learners.

On the administrative front, the team explored ways to streamline CBSE’s internal mechanisms, simplify procedures and organise tasks more systematically, thereby delivering superior services to all parties involved.

The minister noted that CBSE has recently announced supplementary exam results for Class 12 and updated related information on its website, reflecting its ongoing efforts toward openness. Since assuming charge of the Ministry last month, Prahlad Joshi has conducted a series of review meetings, including those on the National Testing Agency, underscoring the government’s commitment to an effective, transparent and student‑focused education system.
