Government Launches Real‑Time Economic Dashboard for Retailers

New Delhi, July 12 – The Confederation of All India Trade (CAIT) has expressed strong support for the central government's upcoming High‑Frequency Economic Barometer, slated for a July 14 launch. The instrument promises a live snapshot of the nation’s economic pulse, specifically tailored for retailers and small‑scale operators.

The dashboard will aggregate data streams such as Goods and Services Tax collections, Unified Payments Interface (UPI) transfers, electronic way‑bills, cargo movement, electricity draw, and banking activity. By layering these datasets, the barometer will provide a granular view of demand‑supply dynamics across regions.

CAIT’s secretary‑general praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for steering India toward a modern, data‑centric governance model. He noted that earlier reforms—Digital India, GST, and UPI—have already deepened fiscal transparency, and the new barometer is the logical next chapter.

Retail traders can expect early alerts on inflationary trends, supply chain disruptions and shifting consumer preferences. Armed with this insight, they can make more informed purchasing, pricing and inventory decisions, bolstering their market position.

The initiative is also projected to sharpen economic forecasting, reinforce investor confidence and provide a decisive push toward the country's "Developed India" target.
