Government Focuses on Development as BJP Marks 100 Days

Minister Dileep Ghosh addressed a gathering in Malda on August 29, emphasizing the state government's commitment to development after the BJP completed its first hundred days in power.

He pointed out that former chief minister Mamata Banerjee should embark on a district‑wide tour to assess the dwindling number of active TMC cadres. Ghosh invited her to experience the challenges faced by opposition leaders.

Targeting Trinamool MP Abhishek Banerjee, the minister said the young politician had spent years enjoying the perks of governance. "It is time for him to understand the difficulties of opposition politics," Ghosh asserted, adding that those who have never been in the opposition lack the resilience required to fight.

Ghosh reiterated that democratic rights allow citizens to demand their dues and that the administration would never concede to any attempts at bypassing courts or flouting legal norms.

On the anti‑corruption front, he reported that FIRs are being registered, arrests are underway, and inquiries continue, all under the rule of law. Developmental initiatives, he noted, receive robust backing from the central government, enabling the revival of stalled projects.

Regarding the legacy of the previous administration, Ghosh said that cleaning up the 12‑15 years of bureaucratic mismanagement would take a year or two, and that his team is already engaged in that process.

He also mentioned his own involvement with the Panchayat department, stating that he travels across districts to hold meetings and oversee the execution of government schemes.
