Google VP Discusses AI Training, Agriculture and Data Security with Gujarat Leaders

During the US visit, Gujarat’s chief minister and his entourage met Google’s Vice President Chandu Thota at the company’s Mountain View campus. Thota presented Google’s roadmap for AI‑driven skill development aimed at youth, teachers and school‑age learners in Gujarat.

He highlighted two priority areas: first, the use of artificial intelligence to analyse crop‑pattern trends, climate variables and soil health, offering farmers actionable insights; second, the deployment of Google Workspace Sovereign AI to safeguard sensitive state data.

The Gujarat delegation, including senior secretaries and officials, expressed enthusiasm for piloting these AI models in the state’s agricultural districts. They also requested technical assistance to integrate Google’s AI platforms with existing government services, seeking a long‑term partnership that could boost productivity and data resilience.

The meeting reinforced Gujarat’s commitment to embedding cutting‑edge technology in its development agenda, aligning with the broader objectives of the Gujarat Summit‑2027.
