Ethanol blending is now a common policy in major economies. In the United States, E10 is standard nationwide and the uptake of E15 is accelerating under federal support, with many vehicles ready for flex‑fuel blends up to E85. Brazil mandates an E27 blend, aiming for 35 percent, and more than 80 percent of new cars are flex‑fuel compatible, running on blends such as E30 or purehydrous ethanol. Japan has introduced ethanol gradually, beginning with an E10 phase‑in. Canada, Thailand and several European nations have also incorporated ethanol into their clean‑fuel roadmaps.
