GIDC Allocates 407 Plots to MSMEs in Historic Online Draw
Gandhinagar witnessed a historic land‑allocation event on October 14 as the Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) completed an online lucky‑draw, distributing 407 plots across an 85‑acre zone to micro, small and medium enterprises.
The draw, overseen by Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghvi, targeted businesses with a footprint of less than 3,000 sq m. A total of 4,665 applications were evaluated and approved electronically, ensuring transparency and swift processing.
These parcels form part of a larger incentive package announced the same day, wherein the state deposited ₹1,100.19 crore directly into the bank accounts of 14,853 industrial entities. Among the beneficiaries, 11,052 MSMEs received ₹444.03 crore, while 3,591 participants in the textile scheme were credited with ₹290.42 crore. Large‑scale industries and a secondary incentive pool accounted for the remaining disbursements.
The GIDC’s “Smart GIDC” vision was reiterated, emphasizing the provision of basic amenities such as sanitation, drainage, street‑lighting, and coordinated service‑line planning alongside road construction. This holistic approach aims to create industrial estates that are both worker‑friendly and environmentally compliant.
Alongside land allocation, the government announced a reduction of procedural paperwork from 30 to 14 documents and a three‑fold increase in file disposal speed over the past six months. The removal of the loan‑requirement for incentive eligibility further broadens access for self‑financed entrepreneurs.
Deputy CM Sanghvi also announced upcoming delegations to Japan and South Korea to explore new technologies and forge global partnerships that will reinforce Gujarat’s industrial ecosystem.
