Minister Ghosh calls for political shift, praises appointment of Mithun Chakravarti

Ghosh turned his attention to cultural affairs, applauding the decision to appoint actor‑politician Mithun Chakravarti as an advisor to the Information and Cultural Affairs Department with cabinet‑rank status. He described the move as a "very good decision" that would energise Bengal’s art and culture scene. Highlighting Chakravarti’s contributions to cinema and his recent political involvement, Ghosh said the veteran’s experience would be valuable for policy formulation and that his presence would stimulate enthusiasm among artists and cultural organisations across the state.
