Ghosh blames CPI(M) for 2014 unrest during Nasreen’s trip
Delip Ghosh placed direct blame on the Communist Party of India (Marxist) for the violent flare‑up that coincided with Taslima Nasreen’s 2014 visit to West Bengal. He asserted that following the passage of the Citizenship Amendment Act, CPI(M) activists ignited a wave of arson targeting religious sites, TMC offices and public transport. According to Ghosh, these actions were carried out by infiltrators who had previously helped opposition parties secure electoral victories by stirring communal tensions. He noted that the present government has purged those infiltrators, resulting in a more stable environment. Ghosh maintained that the remnants of the old network can only resort to vocal criticism, lacking the ability to orchestrate further violence.
