Ghaziabad Police Arrest Two Wanted Men After Gunfire; Both Suffer Leg Injuries

Two separate police encounters in Ghaziabad resulted in the arrest of wanted individuals after they opened fire on law‑enforcement teams. The first incident stemmed from a complaint that a couple of thieves stole a gold necklace and five grams of gold from a resident of Govindpuram. CCTV and local tips led to the capture attempt of Imran, a 20‑year‑old from Delhi's Lohia Nagar. He resisted, shooting at officers; a police round hit his leg, and he was rushed to the Combined District Hospital.

In Indirapuram, a routine vehicle verification turned violent when a suspect tried to escape on a motorcycle. The 24‑year‑old Amir Ali, originally from Mayur Vihar, retaliated with gunfire, prompting a police response that wounded his leg. He, too, received treatment at the same hospital. Both cases are currently being processed under multiple criminal charges, including theft, robbery, and provisions of the Arms and Gangster Acts.
