Ghaziabad Man Confesses to Loni Burglary; Police Recover Illegal Firearm and High-Value Jewellery

In a recent operation on August 21, Loni police of Ghaziabad district arrested a suspect after a tense standoff. The individual, identified as Sachin, approximately 28 years old and residing near Double Tanki, Roopnagar, was attempting to flee on a motorcycle when the vehicle slipped. He then used an illegal tamacha to fire at the police.

The police responded, wounding the suspect in the leg. He received medical attention at a nearby hospital before being taken into custody.

Authorities seized an unregistered firearm, several cartridges, and gold‑silver jewellery with an estimated market value of ₹5 million (around 50 lakh rupees).

During questioning, Sachin confessed to breaking into a house in Girri Market, Loni on the night of 20 August 2026, stealing the jewellery and other valuables.

He is already implicated in more than a dozen criminal cases across Ghaziabad, including dacoity, theft, seizure of stolen property, violations of the Arms Act, NDPS Act and Excise Act. Police have launched further legal action and are assembling a dedicated team to apprehend his associates.
