Gandhinagar’s Jamla Village Sees Record Sapling Installation

Jamla village in Mansa taluka became the focus of Gujarat’s greening agenda when 551 indigenous saplings were rooted at the Asudev Mahadev Temple grounds during the district’s 77th Forest Festival. The planting featured a variety of native species—bilva, aam, neem, ashok—with bilva accounting for over 300 of the seedlings. Minister Panachariya highlighted the longstanding Indian tradition of venerating nature, recalling teachings of ancient rishis and the cultural bond between Lord Krishna and the peepal tree. He encouraged residents to support the Prime Minister’s tree‑planting campaign and to protect the environment from pollution and adulterated consumables.
