Free Temporary Electricity Supply Approved for Ganesh Pandals in AP

APCPDCL released an order on Thursday granting free temporary electricity to Ganesh pandals throughout Andhra Pradesh.

The LT temporary supply category permits a maximum of 3 kW for pandals situated in villages and 5 kW for those in towns. The power will be supplied at no cost for nine days, from 14 September to 22 September.

This announcement follows the Telugu Desam Party‑led NDA government's resolution to aid festival celebrations. Superintending engineers and the respective operation circles have been instructed to allocate the free supply to every approved applicant and to collect applications according to a set format.

Authorities must compute the total bill amount, prepare a concise statement and forward it without delay to the Chief General Manager – Finance, Corporate Office of APCPDCL. Any applications seeking higher loads will be processed under the regular temporary‑supply mechanism.

Field officials are required to ensure all safety measures are in place before energising the pandals, thereby avoiding any electrical accidents. The scheme was unveiled by Minister Nara Lokesh, who said it reflects the government's commitment to enhancing the joyous atmosphere of Ganesh Chaturthi across the state.

The decision has been warmly received by pandal organisers, who anticipate a smoother and more splendid celebration.
