Fourth railway line construction inspected to ease Ahmedabad Junction load

During the monsoon readiness tour, DRM Ved Prakash inspected the progress of the new fourth railway line being laid between Ahmedabad‑Kanakaria and Vatva. The additional track is intended to decongest Ahmedabad Junction, allowing smoother train movements and better adherence to schedules during the rainy season. Engineers reported that earthwork and ballast laying are on schedule, with drainage provisions integrated into the design to handle heavy rainfall. Completion of this line is expected to reduce operational pressure on existing tracks, improve turnaround times, and provide greater flexibility for both passenger and freight services.
