Four Global Drug Smugglers Handed Over to India under Prime Minister’s Anti‑Narcotics Push

New Delhi, 15 August – The Narcotics Control Bureau’s Operation Global Hunt has culminated in the return of four international drug traffickers, marking a decisive step toward the Prime Minister’s drug‑free India agenda.

The extradition list includes Veerendra Singh Basoya from the UAE, Salim Dola captured in Malaysia, Prabhdeep Singh seized in Azerbaijan and logistics facilitator Rithik Bajaj from the UAE. Basoya is alleged to have orchestrated a cartel valued at about 13,000 crore rupees.

Authorities emphasized that robust evidence – financial records, digital footprints and detailed dossiers – made the surrender process smooth. The NCB’s approach now integrates intelligence on local sellers, transport networks and foreign kingpins to dismantle the entire supply chain.

By presenting a united front to the international community, India underscores the dangers of granting safe haven to drug criminals, reinforcing global security cooperation.
