Forty Artists Decorate Jagannath Chariots with Traditional Floor Art

A team of roughly forty artists, many from local art colleges, are applying intricate Jhoti-Chita designs on the chariots and surrounding pathways. Diptranjan Nayak, a veteran participant for six years, recounted how the team began work on July 1 despite heavy rain, praying to Lord Jagannath for relief. The rain ceased, allowing the artisans to continue their decorative work, which adds a vibrant cultural layer to the festival.
