Former Opposition MPs May Return, Says TMC’s Saugat Roy

During a press briefing in Kolkata, TMC MP Saugat Roy spoke about the prospect of rebel legislators rejoining mainstream politics. He revealed that he has spoken directly with several MPs who are currently sitting as independents after leaving the BJP.

Roy claimed that many of them feel uncomfortable within the BJP’s framework and fear possible threats or undue pressure. He suggested that a return to the TMC would be a constructive development and noted that he has already briefed the party’s top brass on these conversations.

The MP also touched upon the broader economic context, applauding the modest cut in commercial LPG cylinder rates, which he said could help offset the impact of higher diesel and petrol prices on the common man.
