Former BJP Youth Leader Shahzad Poonawala Announces Exit, Plans Private Sector Move

Shahzad Poonawala, a former prominent face among the BJP youth ranks, posted on X that he is withdrawing from all party responsibilities and will no longer hold the post of National Spokesperson. In his letter to party chief Nitin Niven, he thanked senior figures – including Amit Shah, JP Nadda and Rajnath Singh – for their mentorship. Poonawala emphasized that his departure is motivated by “critical financial and personal challenges” and that he intends to transition to a private‑sector career, though he will continue to endorse the BJP’s development policies.
