Forecast Shows Light Rain Across Coastal Tamil Nadu, Isolated Thunder in Chennai

The Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre has issued a short‑term outlook indicating that a faint low‑pressure system over the coastal lower troposphere may produce rain in select areas of Tamil Nadu. Thursday's weather in the Western Ghats districts is likely to feature moderate showers with thunder and lightning, plus gusty winds at the surface. After the main event, rain should become light and intermittent. From 21 to 25 August, the model predicts sporadic light rain in the Western Ghats and the northern coastal districts. Elsewhere, the state will largely stay dry, though occasional localised showers cannot be excluded. In Chennai, the sky will be partly cloudy, with a chance of brief thunderstorms and light rain during the evening and night hours.
