Forecast shows light to moderate showers and lower temperatures across Delhi NCR

The latest forecast issued by the Indian Meteorological Service signals a change in the weather pattern over Delhi and the National Capital Region starting Saturday, September 12. Light to moderate thunderstorms are expected to move across the area for the next three days, bringing rain and a noticeable drop in temperature.

On Saturday the maximum temperature is likely to be 31 °C while the minimum will settle around 25 °C. Relative humidity is forecasted to range from 55 % in the early hours to as high as 85 % by evening, as cloud cover persists.

Rainfall has already produced a positive impact on air quality. The AQI recorded at several monitoring stations shows improvement: Ashok Vihar 98, Alipur 87, Anand Vihar 83, Burari Crossing 86, Commonwealth Sports Complex 82, CRRI Mathura Road 70, Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range 71, Aaya Nagar 79 and Chandni Chowk 73.

Noida’s air quality is also on an upward trend, with Sector‑62 at 70 and Sector‑1 at 77, while Sector‑125 and Sector‑116 remain in the moderate range with a reading of 122.

Ghaziabad presents some of the cleanest readings: Govindpur 43, Indirapuram 53, Sanjay Nagar 81, Vasundhara 86 and Ved Vihar‑Loni 95. Loni, however, retained a moderate index of 113.

The outlook for the following days remains cloud‑laden. September 13 could see a modest rise to 32 °C and a low of 26 °C, humidity near 90 %, with a chance of light rain. September 14 is expected to hold steady at 31 °C/25 °C. On September 15, temperatures may fall to 24 °C with a probability of drizzle, while September 16 is likely to see another bout of light showers. September 17 may bring a brief improvement, with a high of 33 °C and a low of 25 °C, although rain chances will be low.
