Five Dead in Bihar Thunderstorms, Relief Declared

Unseasonal storms and heavy rain have claimed five lives in Bihar within the last 24 hours. Two deaths occurred in Muzaffarpur while single fatalities were recorded in West Champaran, East Champaran, and Munger. The incidents were caused by collapsing walls, falling trees, and violent gusts of wind that accompanied the sudden downpour. Reacting swiftly, Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary announced an ex-gratia payment of four lakh rupees to the next of kin of each victim. He conveyed his heartfelt condolences and directed officials to ensure timely disbursement of the relief amount. The CM also appealed to the public to remain vigilant and comply with safety guidelines during stormy weather. Weather experts have noted widespread light to moderate rainfall across the state and forecast a gradual drop in daytime temperatures over the coming days. Residents have been advised to secure loose structures and avoid open areas until the weather stabilizes.
