Firefighters extinguish LPG cylinder blaze in Dharavi within an hour

The Mumbai Fire Brigade confirmed that an LPG cylinder caught fire in the early hours of Saturday in Dharavi, a densely populated suburb of the city. The fire broke out near a temporary fruit stall that housed electrical wiring, wooden furniture and plastic items, limiting the spread of the blaze.

Responding teams from the fire brigade, police and BEST reached the site promptly. The fire was fully doused by 12:10 a.m., curbing further damage to surrounding structures, including aluminium and plastic decorative sheets on the building’s exterior. Four victims—two children and two adults—were already receiving medical attention for burns ranging from five to thirty percent of their body surface.
