Firefighters Control Inferno at Moradabad Guest House, Two Shops Affected
Late Wednesday night, a severe fire erupted in a guest house positioned in front of Moradabad railway station’s Gate‑2. The flames leapt onto two low‑lying shops that house a private commercial office (PCO), both constructed from flammable wood materials.
The Moradabad fire department dispatched an initial pair of fire‑engine units, but the blaze’s rapid spread compelled the addition of three more trucks, bringing the total to five. Crews battled the inferno for about sixty minutes, ultimately containing it and rescuing the surrounding cluster of roughly fifty neighboring stalls.
According to the chief fire officer, the incident caused damage only to the two wooden shops; the guest house sustained no structural loss. Early reports rule out any human injury, and investigators are examining a possible short‑circuit as the origin of the fire.
