Financial Aid of ₹1,000‑₹1,500 per Month Extended to 68.5 Lakh Women
Punjab's Mother‑Daughter Welfare Scheme continues to expand its financial support, now covering a total of 68.5 lakh women aged 18 and above. Eligible beneficiaries receive a monthly cash grant of ₹1,000 if they belong to the General category, while those from Scheduled Castes receive ₹1,500.
Payments are made directly into the recipients' bank accounts using the Direct Benefit Transfer system, which minimizes delays and reduces administrative overhead. The scheme was launched as part of the state's 2026‑27 budget, with the primary goal of fostering economic self‑reliance among women.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann emphasized that even modest amounts can make a significant difference in household budgeting and help women become more self‑sufficient.
