Father of Twisha Sharma Praises CBI Amid Voice Sample Standoff

Nawneedi Sharma, the grieving father of actress‑model Twisha Sharma, expressed confidence in the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), describing it as the nation's premier investigative agency. He affirmed his belief that the CBI will uncover the truth behind his daughter's death. The CBI informed the court on Tuesday that the accused, Giribala Singh and Samarth Singh, have refused to provide voice samples, despite earlier assurances during a previous hearing. Consequently, the agency filed another petition seeking court permission under Section 349 of the Indian Penal Code to record the samples. The refusal came after the CBI arrived at the jail to collect the recordings, with Samarth Singh declining to cooperate. Twisha Sharma was found dead on May 12 in the Katara Hills locality of Bhopal. While her in‑laws claim she took her own life, her family alleges a homicide. The case intensified after the Madhya Pradesh High Court ordered a second post‑mortem by AIIMS Delhi, following objections from the victim's relatives, and later transferred the probe to the CBI on May 25.
