A devastating explosion at a private firecracker manufacturing unit in Vetrilaiyurani village, Sivakasi taluk, Virudhunagar district, Tamil Nadu, resulted in one fatality and injuries to five others. The incident occurred around 8:45 a.m. The deceased has been identified as Balagurusamy, 50 years old.
In a separate incident, in Himachal Pradesh, four people were killed and one seriously injured when a car plunged into a deep gorge near Rahni Nala, close to Rohtang Pass, in Kullu district. Rescue operations are underway, and the identities of the victims are yet to be confirmed.
