Responsibility for the quality of all agro‑investments now rests firmly with the respective sugar mills, regardless of whether distribution is handled directly or through third‑party agents. District sugarcane officers and deputy commissioners will conduct regular inspections and audits. Any mill caught dispensing low‑grade inputs without explicit farmer approval will face immediate legal action, and the value of the inputs may be reclaimed from the cane price. The Department of Sugarcane and Agriculture will jointly carry out periodic sampling of market‑available pesticides to verify compliance, while false advertising on social media will be pursued under the Pesticide Act, 1968.
