Farmers demand full milk payment after admin deductions, government urged

Tiruchirappalli's milk producers are pressing the Tamil Nadu government to release the full amount of the revised procurement price. After the state raised cow milk rates to 44 rupees per litre, cooperatives deducted 2.75 rupees per litre for administrative charges, leaving farmers with 41.25 rupees per litre in their accounts. Management says half of the 1.75 rupee charge will cover society expenses, while the remaining portion will be returned as a bonus. However, farmer representatives question the practice of deducting one rupee per litre and later treating it as a bonus, arguing that it creates a cash flow strain. They have requested the dairy board to release the entire payment without any holdbacks.
