Farmers and youth initiatives mark 2026 in Madhya Pradesh

The state declared 2026 as the "Farmer Welfare Year". Across all districts, the Balaram Krishi Mahotsav celebrated agricultural labour, while a new "Kavach" scheme promised financial security to cultivators. The government also pledged four‑times compensation for land acquired for public projects – a first in the state's history. Youth development was spotlighted with the launch of the "Indradhanushi" strategy, covering quality education, skill training, entrepreneurship, job creation, startup support, sports‑culture‑research and leadership. More than 85,000 youngsters have already been placed in government posts, with plans to create over a lakh public‑sector jobs each year.
