Family of three struck by collapsing hill in Nagaland's Alisofur area

In the early hours of July 29, a massive portion of a hill collapsed onto a rented dwelling in Upper Penli Ward, Mokokchung. The tragedy claimed the lives of brothers Muvalong (19) and Thridiba (16) Sangtam, both students from Alisofur, while their mother survived with injuries that required medical attention.

The brothers' remains were transferred to their ancestral village where relatives and friends held a solemn farewell. The incident underscores the growing vulnerability of hill communities as monsoon rains intensify across the state.
