Family of suicide victim Gulzar Singh accuses Punjab police of rights violation

The son of the late Gulzar Singh, Lakhvinder, met with Akali Dal president Sukbir Singh Badal on Friday to detail the alleged violations of his family’s rights. He claimed that after Gulzar’s death, Punjab police, under orders from the AAP administration, performed a forced cremation, preventing the family from seeing him and from performing traditional rites. Badal reacted with a mix of grief and fury, stating that the family has endured unimaginable suffering at the hands of a ruthless government that appears more concerned with protecting Finance Minister Harpal Cheema than with justice for the victims.
