Families mourn six women among seven victims of Palnadu road tragedy

A devastating road accident in Palnadu district claimed seven lives, with six women among the deceased. The crash involved a private bus and an auto‑rickshaw packed with passengers returning from a birthday celebration in Kondamajuluru, Prakasham district.

Four victims died instantly at the scene, while two more passed away later at Guntur General Hospital and one at ChilkaluRpet Government Hospital. The identities of the dead have been released as Bontu Babu, 62; Bontu Maneamma, 55; Sampurnamma, 70; Gangamma, 50; Lakshmamma, 75; Chautupalli Swarthamma, 45; and Mariyamma, 45.

Relatives gathered at the accident site, expressing shock and grief. State leaders, including the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister, visited the families, offering condolences and ensuring that the injured receive comprehensive medical care.

The Home Minister called for a thorough investigation into the crash, focusing on vehicle speed, driver conduct, and compliance with traffic regulations, aiming to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
