Fake ₹200 Bills Worth ₹1.84 Lakh Confiscated in Greater Noida Raid
A coordinated police operation in Greater Noida on 16 October resulted in the seizure of 920 counterfeit ₹200 notes, carrying a printed value of ₹1,84,000. The raid, conducted by the Knowledge Park police station, led to the capture of four alleged perpetrators: Arjun Singh, Shashank Gupta, Shantanu Singh and Vaibhav Shukla.
Alongside the fake currency, officers recovered ₹1,000 in legal tender and a Swift Desire car that had been stripped of its number plates. The suspects are accused of running a fraud that involved promising three times the amount of money to unsuspecting investors, receiving genuine cash in return, and distributing the illicit gains among themselves.
Police statements reveal that the scheme was hatched after Arjun Singh met fellow inmate Kuber Singh in Ayodhya jail earlier this year. The two allegedly plotted to produce counterfeit notes, enlisting the other three youths to help with the printing and distribution.
The four arrested individuals come from different districts of Uttar Pradesh and are aged between 19 and 22 years. Their academic backgrounds include an eighth‑standard qualification and ongoing degrees in commerce, law and computer applications. Legal cases have been lodged against each suspect, and further investigations are focusing on the origin of the forged notes and any additional conspirators.
