Chief Minister Fadnavis inaugurates agreement for Kolhapur sports hub

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Ajit Pawar, endorsed a strategic MoU that will transform Kolhapur into a premier sports centre. The memorandum, signed with the Kolhapur District Cricket Association, transfers a sizeable government parcel in Vikaswadi for construction of a 35,000‑seat cricket stadium built to BCCI and ICC standards. The project will also host a multi‑sport hub featuring state‑of‑the‑art facilities for boxing, judo, archery, wrestling, swimming, table tennis, and fencing. Supporting amenities include a modern pavilion, indoor practice grounds, a sports‑science centre, flood‑lighting, a museum, parking, solar power generation, and a robust security framework.
