Fact‑Check Unit Debunks Claim of Chinese Troops Penetrating 60km Inside India

A recent claim circulating online alleged that Chinese military units had moved 60 kilometres deep into Indian territory along the contested frontier. The assertion was accompanied by a short video that many shared as proof.

The Ministry of Defence’s fact‑check cell examined the footage and found no link to the India‑China border. Independent analysts confirmed that the terrain shown in the video does not match the LAC region, and the claim was categorised as false.

Officials reiterated that any legitimate information regarding border operations will be released through official channels, including ministry briefings and armed‑forces statements. They urged the public to verify any such content through these sources before disseminating it further.

The ministry also called on social media platforms to remove content that spreads unverified narratives, highlighting the risk of panic and misinformation that can arise from such false reports.
