Extensive raids across 26 locations uncover documents in BRO fund scandal
On Monday, CBI teams carried out simultaneous raids at 26 distinct locations covering a wide geographic spread: Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, the national capital, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Maharashtra, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland.
The operation, part of a larger investigation into alleged misappropriation of BRO funds, resulted in the recovery of several critical paper files and electronic evidence. These materials are expected to corroborate the charge sheets filed under the Prevention of Corruption Act and relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
In a related development, investigators entered a site in Himachal Pradesh on Tuesday, extending the sweep to further secure potential leads. The comprehensive nature of the raids underscores the agency's commitment to fast‑tracking the case.
All three detained individuals have now been produced before a court in Ladakh, where they will face formal charges.
