From 1.5 to 10 Expressways: Yogi Hails UP's Infrastructure Surge

Lucknow, October 29: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has highlighted a sweeping change in Uttar Pradesh's infrastructure, attributing the progress to the double-engine government's approach under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Chief Minister said the state's development has been driven by speed, scale and connectivity. He added that these elements have brought opportunities to every region, support to every enterprise and improved living standards for every family.

In a message shared on X on Thursday, he said road, rail and air links are not just about reducing distances. They also bring comfort, save time and open the door to greater prosperity.

Recalling the situation before 2017, CM Yogi said the key lifelines of development in Uttar Pradesh were in a very weak state. He said the picture has been transformed under the double-engine government guided by PM Modi.

The most striking comparison he made concerned expressways. Before the BJP's double-engine government came to power, the most populous state in the country had one and a half expressways. Today, 10 expressways are operational.

Aviation has also seen a major expansion. Earlier, air services were restricted to select cities, but now the state has 12 domestic and five international airports. Metro rail, which was absent from every city in the state earlier, is now operating in seven cities.

The Chief Minister noted that these developments are helping farmers reach larger markets and are creating new room for entrepreneurship. Students and young people are gaining easier access to education and employment, commuters are saving time, and tourism expansion is providing a fresh boost to local incomes.

He concluded that the pace of development is changing the lives of citizens from villages to towns and from towns to cities. Opportunities for every sector, strength for every enterprise and growing prosperity for every household, he said, now define the new identity of Uttar Pradesh in New India.
