In a boost for India’s veteran community, the Directorate General Resettlement (DGR) under the Ministry of Defence rolled out a massive employment expo at Aravali Auditorium, Delhi Cantt, on March 20. Starting sharp at 7 AM, the fair connected retired soldiers, sailors, and airmen with top-tier corporate recruiters spanning diverse industries.
Participants were advised to bring identification documents and multiple resume copies, setting the stage for direct interactions. The event’s appeal lies in its employer-friendly perks: zero-cost registration, free job listings, stall allocations at no charge, and unfettered access to ex-servicemen resumes—making it a win-win proposition.
Building on the momentum from the Chandigarh job fair held just days earlier on March 17, this series positions ex-servicemen as prime candidates for roles in security management, IT solutions, administrative leadership, supply chain logistics, medical services, and engineering projects. These fairs serve as vital platforms, matching military-honed skills with civilian demands.
DGR’s ambitious roadmap includes 18 job fairs nationwide in FY 2025-26, with most already executed in key locations from north to south India. This reflects a deep-seated dedication to resettlement and welfare, honoring the discipline, strategic thinking, and expertise that ex-servicemen offer.
For recruiters, the value is clear: tap into a reservoir of dedicated, skilled professionals ready for immediate deployment. Many are scheduling interviews ahead of time, shortlisting talent efficiently. Such efforts not only empower veterans but also enrich India’s workforce with proven leaders.
