Dense fog turned a routine pilgrimage journey into a nightmare on Agra Highway when a double-decker bus flipped near Malajani village in Etawah’s Jaswantnagar area. The vehicle, loaded with 45 devotees fresh from Barsana darshan and heading to Orai, skidded out of control late evening, injuring 10 passengers.
The accident unfolded in seconds: as the bus navigated the fog-blanketed stretch, the driver’s grip faltered, sending the towering bus crashing onto its side. Heart-wrenching cries echoed as pilgrims, many elderly, feared for their lives amid the wreckage.
Heroic locals sprang into action, pulling survivors from the mangled double-decker. Emergency services were alerted promptly, and ambulances rushed the wounded to nearby medical facilities. At the health center, medics triaged the casualties—most with bruises and cuts, though a couple required intensive monitoring.
Top officials, including DM Shubhrant Kumar Shukla and SSP Brijesh Kumar Srivastava, monitored the situation firsthand at the hospital. They conversed with patients, issued directives for comprehensive treatment, and pledged full administrative aid.
