Encounter in Kishtwar: Security Forces Engage Terrorists

An ongoing encounter has been reported between security forces and terrorists in the Chatroo area of Kishtwar district, Jammu and Kashmir. According to a post on X by 16 Corps, Indian Army, the operation commenced following specific intelligence inputs in Kanzal Mandu, Kishtwar. Contact has been established with the terrorists, and operations are currently in progress. Reports suggest that at least three terrorists are present in the area, and a fierce gunbattle is underway. Security has been increased along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44), especially with the commencement of the Shri Amarnath Yatra.
