Election Officials Roll Out Voter Awareness Activities for Upcoming Panchayat Polls
The Rajasthan State Election Commission has approved a range of voter‑education initiatives ahead of the Panchayati Raj Institution elections. Commissioner Rajeshwar Singh presided over a video conference that brought together chief election officials, college principals, ELCC nodal officers and campus ambassadors.
Key proposals include voter‑literacy clubs, student campus ambassadors, and a series of SVEIP‑style events targeting first‑time voters, women and youth.
Singh also asked the team to arrange thematic programmes such as “One Evening for Democracy”, “One Tree for Democracy”, “One Lamp for Democracy” and “One Game for Democracy”. Model polling stations will feature voter‑message boards, street‑theatre, election courts and dialogue sessions.
Additional activities like mehndi contests, two‑wheel and three‑wheel rallies, a colourful “satrangi” week, marathon runs and voter quizzes are being promoted to increase turnout across the 1.55 lakh elected posts at the village level.
